Lahore to Rawalpindi, with a driver

The road

Wikipedia describes the M-2 as the 375 km Lahore–Islamabad motorway, connecting Rawalpindi and Islamabad with Lahore. An OpenStreetMap drive between the Wikipedia coordinates for Lahore and Rawalpindi, checked on 30 Oct 2026, stayed on the M-2 for about 319 km and finished on Girja Road. That route was 360.3 km and 4 hours 15 minutes. Rawalpindi and Islamabad are the twin cities at the northern end, so the Islamabad page is the same motorway with a different drop.

Tolls

Dawn reported the NHA notice on 6 July 2026. The Lahore–Islamabad M-2 single-trip toll for cars, jeeps and taxis is PKR 1,430, in force from 5 July 2026 to 23 April 2027. This Rawalpindi route leaves the motorway on Girja Road, so that end-to-end figure is the published M-2 toll, not a separate Rawalpindi plaza rate. Confirm the toll that is charged. It is extra.

Rest stops

Wikipedia lists five M-2 service areas, about 60 to 80 km apart: Sukheki, Sial, Bhera, Kallar Kahar and Chakri. A drive that uses most of the M-2 passes them. The NHA’s M-2 notice places the northbound office at the Kallar Kahar service area.

The fare is quoted on WhatsApp. One-way and multi-day fares are quoted on WhatsApp. The driver is included. Petrol and tolls are extra.
