November 2026 is a busy month for Pakistan's car market: Kia Stonic Turbo deliveries are due this month, the price of the locally assembled Jaecoo J5 EV is set to be revealed on 6 November, and MG says its HS Super Hybrid stays at Rs 10,199,000. At the same time, the draft Auto Policy 2026-31 proposes lower sales tax on electric and plug-in hybrid cars, but it is not in force yet, so it has not changed any showroom price. Here is what is confirmed, what is only proposed, and what it means if you are deciding whether to buy now or wait.
Kia Stonic Turbo: deliveries in November and December
Lucky Motor Corporation opened bookings for the Kia Stonic 1.0L Turbo on 1 October. The Turbo X is priced at Rs 5,499,000 and the Turbo S at Rs 5,899,000, both ex-factory and excluding freight and insurance [1]. It uses a 1.0-litre turbo engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox [1].
Full payment locks the price for limited stock, with deliveries scheduled for November and December 2026. Buyers who want delivery after December can book with a partial payment of Rs 1,000,000 [1]. Lucky Motor also says any new government duty or tax imposed before delivery will be passed to the customer [1], which matters while the new auto policy is still being finalised.
Jaecoo J5 EV: price reveal on 6 November
The Jaecoo J5 EV, shown at the Pakistan Auto Show at Expo Centre Lahore in September, is being assembled in CKD form at NexGen Auto's Faisalabad plant. Its official ex-factory price is due to be revealed on 6 November [2]. Positive Pakistan reports that the first EV unit rolled off the line in October and describes it as the first battery electric car assembled in Pakistan [2]. Until the company publishes the price, treat any figure you see online as a guess.
MG HS Super Hybrid: price unchanged
MG Motor Pakistan said on 3 November that the HS Super Hybrid stays at Rs 10,199,000 [3]. The company explained the tax history behind it: the hybrid variants launched in April on an 8.5% GST basis, GST rose to 25% after 1 July, and a 14 September notification cut it to 18% for the relevant hybrid category. After that cut, MG lowered the HS Hybrid+ to Rs 9,999,000 while the Super Hybrid stayed the same [3].
New pickups and SUVs on the road
Master Changan Motors started local production of the NEVO Hunter REEV 4x4 pickup at its Karachi plant, with a line-off ceremony on 27 October. It carries an introductory price of Rs 10,990,000, and the company says bookings are full until February 2027 [4]. Other launches expected before the end of 2026, according to a roundup by Adjungle, include the Tank 300 (expected in November, no price announced) and the locally assembled BYD Sealion 6 [5].
The draft Auto Policy 2026-31: proposed, not in force
Dawn reported on 21 October that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the draft Auto Policy 2026-31, which now needs the federal cabinet and then parliament [6]. The draft proposes:
- 1% sales tax on battery electric vehicles, 6% on range-extended EVs and 9% on plug-in hybrids [6][7]
- Cutting tariffs on fully built cars and CKD kits to as low as 15% by 2030-31 [6]
- Raising the EV financing limit from Rs 3 million to Rs 10 million and the repayment period from three to five years [6]
- An Automotive Development Levy on vehicles above 1,000cc [6]
Bloom Pakistan notes that the government still needs further clearance, including discussions with the IMF, and that lower taxes will not automatically mean lower prices [8]. MG made the same point on 3 November, saying the proposed rates should not be read as an effective tax rate [3].
Should you buy now or wait?
If you need a car this month, the confirmed prices above are what you will pay, plus freight, insurance and registration. If you are considering an EV or plug-in hybrid, it may be worth watching for the cabinet decision, since the proposed sales tax cuts only apply once notified. For hybrids, the 18% GST notified in September is already in effect [3].
